EMS Institute

The Emergency Medical Services Institute at Sharon Hospital is a vital resource for 16 volunteer ambulance squads in surrounding communities. Through a fund developed by the hospital the Institute provides local ambulance workers with sophisticated training, speakers and educational materials.

In recent years the EMS Institute has offered a trauma course, a "farmedic" course for farm emergencies, a ropes rescue course and an ambulance driver's course. Sharon Hospital emergency medicine specialists also provide medical oversight for the volunteer ambulance units through the EMS Institute.
